Quilts are more than just covers of warmth, they are a merging of the quilters imagination and the delightful colors and textures found in fabrics new and old;
an emotional combination of cloth and mind.

lesson #1 in scrap quiltmaking
Making a scrap quilt is like throwing a large party, the more colorful participants you include in the whoop-de-doo, the less you have to worry about who's sitting next to who and the more time you can spend having a good time at the event.
I'm with you on the scrap quilting. and its fun to use unexpected fabrics as well as lots of variety, and where else would I use all those busy little calicos gifted to me from my mother if not in a scrap quilt. plus I'm cheap, or maybe just thrifty. great job on the words. are they really your first ones? wow! and I love your new neighbourhood.
Thank you Brenda and Joyce, and yes they are my very first words...and 2 sylables at that! Going to do words around my houses, I finally have the center done. Can't decide on something that will fit well, though. Any ideas? Maybe- "Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home." Perhaps with a date to even it out?
I am old enough to know better, but still young enough to think I can become better. I am a lover, admirer and maker of quilts. I call a small log cabin in rural north Georgia my home. It is filled with one patient husband, an amazing man-child, a three legged diva cat named Izzy and more quilts than you can imagine.
You are so right. Freddy Moran says 10 colors may look wrong but 100 are always right. I love your wonky houses.
