Quilts are more than just covers of warmth, they are a merging of the quilters imagination and the delightful colors and textures found in fabrics new and old;
an emotional combination of cloth and mind.

RATTLE and WARM ready for snail-mail
still getting the hand of the letter thing. no matter what i intend the words end up bigger than planned. hmmmm pratice practice practice
oh it's totally true - practice helps a tremendous amount. it also might help to cut smaller strips if you're using large ones. I get my letters so small by using a 7/8 inch strip for my narrowest size. your warm is so cozy - both the blocks are fabulous.
I am old enough to know better, but still young enough to think I can become better. I am a lover, admirer and maker of quilts. I call a small log cabin in rural north Georgia my home. It is filled with one patient husband, an amazing man-child, a three legged diva cat named Izzy and more quilts than you can imagine.
your words look great. smaller comes with practice, and of course really narrow strips, which can be fiddly.

ReplyDeleteYour letters look great to me! Yep, I need more practice too. But your M in warm is what I was trying for and couldn't get. Good job!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry - I still can't do small letters. Yours are great.
